The Honorable Christopher “Chris” Campbell is one of the leading experts in the economy and business markets. Chris is a co-founder of Liberty Strategic Minerals Corporation, a U.S. aligned copper investment extraction technology platform formed to address the structural deficit in Western copper supply and enhance critical mineral supply chain resilience. Immediately prior to his co-founding of Liberty, Chris served as a Senior Advisor at the International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) where he was tasked by the White House to help the agency expand its critical mission of advancing United States interests around the world by mobilizing private capital for development projects by providing financial tools like loans, loan guarantees, political risk insurance, and equity investments in sectors like mining, energy, infrastructure, health, and businesses. Chris also served and was unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate as the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Institutions. In one of the most critical roles in the Treasury department, Campbell was responsible for coordinating efforts regarding the legislation and regulation of financial institutions, federal agencies that regulate or ensure financial institutions, and securities markets. Overseeing a staff of 500, he managed programs including government-sponsored enterprises, cyber security and compliance policy, the Federal Insurance Office (FIO), as well as small business, community development, and affordable housing policy.
Prior to his role at the Treasury department, Campbell was the majority staff director to the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance. He designed, managed, and coordinated the U.S. Senate agenda in the areas of international and domestic taxation, international trade, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, the U.S. National Debt, and oversight of three presidential cabinet secretaries. For seven years running, he was named by Roll Call Newspaper as ‘one of the 50 most influential staffers on Capitol Hill.’
A frequent guest commentator on national news programs on matters involving the economy, he has appeared on CNBC's Squawk Box, CNBC's Worldwide Exchange, Cheddar TV, as well as CNN, Fox News Channel, CNBC, Bloomberg, and the BBC, among others.
A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Campbell is the Founder and CEO of Incamera Solutions, a global operating partner. Previously he was a senior executive at the New York-based global advisor, Kroll. Additionally, he has successfully served on dozens of corporate boards and currently serves as an independent director of Protego, Apterra (Apollo’s largest debt platform), and tZERO, and serves as a strategic advisor and consultant to scores of the largest funds, families, and companies around the world. Additionally, he is a Professor of Practice at his alma mater, Thunderbird School of Global Management.
He received an M.B.A. from Thunderbird School of Global Business Management and a bachelor’s from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Political Science.
